An aliphatic resin of low molecular weight, characterized by high resistance to ageing and optical properties which are comparable to those of natural resins; ideally used as a final varnish for panel and canvas paintings. The amount to be dissolved in solvent is approx. 20-30% by weight, but it can also be reduced in case of spray applications.
Regalrez 1094 is soluble in medium- and low- polarity solvents (white spirit, petroleum essential oil, butyl acetate) and in these solvents it remains reversible even after ageing; it is insoluble in water and polar solvents.
Regalrez 1094 is used for the formulation of Regal Varnishes Mat and Gloss (Chap. 7.3).
